Junior Watson Plays the Paddock July 13th!
California Blues guitar legend Junior Watson will be returning to Toronto for a performance at The Paddock Tavern on July 13 - and he’s bringing with him the who’s who of jump blues musicians to the party, including pianist Fred Kaplan (Hollywood Fats).
The evening will feature an all-star backing band including Montreal harmonica ace Bharath Rajakumar, Toronto Blues Society 2013 Talent Search Winner Sugar Brown, as well as Ben Caissie and Costa Zaphiroupolos.
About Junior Watson:
With nearly thirty years of experience, Junior Watson has reached cult status. He has done what all great artists have done: melding diverse styles to create a style all his own. With an artist resume as large as it is impressive, Watson is a founding member of The Mighty Flyers, former member of Canned Heat, and has toured with LA-based harmonica player/vocalist Lynwood Slim. Watson has backed up and recorded with the artists such as Big Mama Thornton, George Smith, Jimmy Rogers, Shakey Jake, Luther Tucker, Charlie Musselwhite, Kim Wilson, William Clark and more. "Jr. Watson is an instrumentalist so simultaneously right and off the wall that 'genius' would not be an inappropriate title...the best blues guitarist now working..." (L.A.Times)
